Music Class Videos
We always end class with the “So Long, Farewell” song.
Cup Rhythms: Students learn different ways to create rhythms, even with cups! Singing while performing cup rhythms at the same time is a fun challenge.
2026 Sijo (Korean Poem) Challenge Winner hosted by Sejong Cultural Society in Chicago
Every year, the Sejong Cultural Society in Chicago hosts the Sijo Challenge, inviting groups to submit a video. CHIM Studio is proud to have won in both 2025 and 2026!
Korean Drum: This mini drum has a wide range of dynamics and beautiful resonance. Students learn how to count numbers and explore different ways to play the drum. We sing Korean folk songs with the drums, and students improvise with different lyrics—an essential element of folk song tradition.
Other activities in music class:
Music Appreciation: Students listen to classical music performances and talk about mood, dynamics, rhythm, and colors that they observe.
Do-Re-Me song: The Do-Re-Me hand motions are a great way to learn scales. Even our nonverbal students can participate by building scales together. We then take turns composing with the hand motions and engage in a call-and-response activity.
